UNSURE HOW LONG IT WAS THERE FOR
Offered for auction at the Shanoons 2022 Winter sale. The description
was:
The W112 Mercedes Benz coupe is a timeless design that just reeks of
quality and class. Our 1967 300SE example presents in beautiful condition
thanks to a detailed restoration over the past few years that has seen
plenty of money invested. Its Metallic Brown paint is new, and the
external chrome redone, while inside there's new black leather trim and
refurbished woodwork. The paint is nice, though there's a flaw under the
right moulding behind the door, and so too the chrome, however there's
some damage to the left-side of the rear bumper and a cover missing from
the central join, and the right hand rear window frame is pitted. While
the woodwork is superb, the leather trim fits awkwardly on the side of
the passenger seat, while the lovely black flecked carpet is oddly lined
near the left-hand door opening. But that's being a bit picky, it is a
lovely car. Mechanically, new air-suspension height control and master
valves, and a myriad of other suspension components have been fitted, as
have new brakes, and various door and window rubbers. The 3-speed
automatic transmission has also had a new shift kit, gasket, and oil
filter, while the 3 litre six-cylinder has new engine mounts, rocker
cover gasket, ignition leads, and plug lead ends. The differential has a
new pinion seal too. The 300SE's non-original air-conditioning currently
isn't connected. In total, more than $15K has been spent in parts and
labor alone over the past three years. What that means is that most if
not all the hard work is done, and this Mercedes W112 coupe is ready to
impress once more. It should be an appreciating asset. The 1967 Mercedes
Benz 300SE coupe is being offered for sale here unregistered.
