The text in the Auction details included:

"The 1967 300SE Cabriolet being sold is one of them and features Silver coachwork complemented by a Red leather interior. It has recently benefited from a new hood and carpets and other attention to the interior trim. The vendor now regards the bodywork, paintwork, trim, engine and four-speed automatic gearbox as all being in "excellent" condition. `HJE 876F' comes complete with owner's manual, sundry invoices, a couple of old MOTs and one valid into December 2012. A rare and imposing motorcar"

The text for that listing included:

"This very rare righthand drive example with a fully lined convertible roof (brand new) represents one of just 708 cabriolets built in both right and lefthand drive versions. It was the subject of a restoration some six years ago included repainting the car in silver and re-trimming the interior in high quality maroon leather. Mechanically the car was also checked through and the brakes and suspension were completely rebuilt using genuine Mercedes-Benz parts. All bills are contained within the history file including an MoT test certificate valid until December this year and a UK V5C registration document. A superb driving car and with just over 60,000 miles recorded, this very desirable, beautifully presented and rare Mercedes-Benz is elegance personified."
