Hello and welcome to another newsletter.
Yes, I know it is only one week since the last newsletter, but I have some info that can't wait until next week. Below are the details for the Mercedes-Benz Club of the ACT 25th anniversary celebrations. These are to be held on the weekend of the 22-23rd of this month and I would suggest that if you can make it to Canberra for the weekend, it would be a great weekend. Sorry I didn't post this info earlier, but I didn't get it untill a few days ago.

Our 25th Anniversary Celebrations 22nd-23rd September 2001
Saturday 22nd September - Grand Day Tour around Lake Burley Griffin and Environs
Meeting Place: is in the carpark behind the National War Memorial, Treloar Cres.Campbell.
Time: 9.45am for 10 am blast off. Bookings: ring Anne Maddern on (02) 62881892 or Lynn Harrison on (02) 62867398 or harrison@austarmetro.com.au by the 10th of September 2001 to facilitate CSIRO planning.
Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines for a magical mystery tour of central Canberra. You and your car will be guided along the way around Lake Burley Griffin environs, culminating at the CSIRO Discovery Centre, Black Moutain Laboratories, Clunies Ross St., Black Mountain.
More surprises await you while exploring a range of exciting exhibits showcasing CSIRO's extraordinary achievements in science and innovation.Experience a leading edge 3D computer, the Nortel Networks virtual reality theatre, medical advances at the touch of a human body, and a new age sheep. Ask your own questions about gene technology and global warming. The interactive showcase of Australian scientific innovation.
All this and you can eat your light lunch in a lovely rain forest like setting at very reasonable prices at your own expense. The entrance fee is $6 for adults, $3 for children and seniors, and $15 for a family. After this the group tour and lunch participants will be free to do their own thing or be guided back to Civic centre, allowing ample time to dress for our 25th anniversary dinner in the evening.
If participants can't make the full tour, they might like to meet the tour at the CSIRO Discovery Centre for lunch at 12 noon followed by an inspection, but please let the above people know by 18th September.
SATURDAY NIGHT 22nd September - 25th Anniversay Dinner
Time: 7.30 pm for 8pm Where: GRAND MARQUEE, Rydges Capital Hill, cnr. Canberra Ave and National Circuit, Forrest, ACT 2603. Cost: $38 per person, drinks at your own expense. Dress: Gentlemen will be comfortable in a jacket and tie.
Payment and numbers before Monday 10th September, 2001.
Plenty of secure undercover parking available, also special accomodation rates for those travelling to Canberra. Please ask Anne Maddern on (02) 62881892 for the rate information when you book for the dinner.
SUNDAY 23rd September CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE
A wonderful CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE at the Shannons German Autofest, on the lawns opposite the Treasury Building in Parkes Place, Parkes.
Help make this weekend a success by attending all these exciting events to celebrate our 25th year as The Mercedes-Benz Club of the ACT!
