W112 300SE, sedan, coupe, cabriolet
All W112's have the chassis number and engine number in the same
place. In the pictures below follow the red arrow for the chassis
number and the blue arrow for the engine number.
- Chassis number is stamped into the r/h chassis rail immediately in
front of where the front subframe mount is. It could also be described as
being under the throttle body.
- The engine number is stamped into the cylinder block immediately below
the 5th and 6th spark plug.
- Note that early examples also have the body number stamped into the
radiator support panel. This is identified as having 13 digits, a chassis
number has 14 digits.
