How to build a 560GE

Over the years MB Spares have done a lot of interesting conversions. back in the 90's we were converting a lot of 240D's to 300D's, but in the last few years we have stepped it up a gear and are now doing V8 conversions to various Mercedes-Benz models.

These pictures detail what is required to convert a W460 series G wagon to V8 power. Something that we always knew was possible as AMG offered this conversion in the early 90s. Obviously we have not included all the details, especially the modifications to the tranmission to allow it to lock into first gear and to the drive shafts.

After the conversion we took it for a shakedown run on the AGOA 30th birthday event in mansfield Victoria where it performed way better than we had ever imagined. The torque from the V8 is so great that low range was not required for much of the trip.
