Vehicle History:The only known 280SEL wagon in existence. Very well optioned with electric widows, sunroof, etc. Owned by M.B Spares an used as a breakdown vehicle for Mercedes-Benz club rallys. There is an interesting chance of history with this vehicle. The lower two pictures were taken in 1983 when I was 19. The car was for sale at a local car yard near my parents house in Melbourne. At the time I had nowhere near the funds to purchase it and could only stand there and take a picture. Some 22 years later in late 2005 I finally purchased the car from a chap in South Australia. A very quick restoration was carried out so that it could be used on the 2006 Mercedes-Benz clubs of Australia National Rally. At some point in time the car will need a full detailed restoration to preserve this wonder piece of motoring history for the years to come. | |
